Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are produced for the same reasons as residential EPCs but are notably more detailed and come with active recommendations.
These, now required by law, were introduced in 2008 so as to give an indication of the energy efficiency of a commercial building (offices, warehouses, shops, factories etc). If a property is being marketed one must be shown.
There are a small number of other reasons when an EPC is required such as when a Photo Voltaic installation is being made and when a “Green Deal Advisory Report” is being prepared.
EPCs are valid for a period of ten years. You may however wish to recommission a revised EPC before this if you have made improvements to the property.
Our consultants are accredited to carry out Level 3 and Level 4 commercial EPCs. This includes “on construction” commercial EPCs.
